RIP Frank Frazetta

Sad news. I mean, it's been a while coming, but it's still very sad news.

What can I really say about Frazetta that other folks haven't experienced? His work is amazing and everyone knows it. There's a great documentary out there about him called Frazetta: Painting with Fire. It was there that I learned he had had a stroke years ago and had to re-teach himself to draw.

Amazing guy who leaves behind an amazing legacy.

AGGGGHHHHGHHHHHHH!!!

Frazetta was an incredible talent. The modern day Michaelangelo, in my eyes anyway. Rest in peace, Sensei.

Thanks to my dad I can remember his work on a host of sci-fi and fantasy book covers and posters. It's not entirely a fair way to encapsule the man's career and talent, but there it is. He was in many ways like the Norman Rockwell of sci-fi/fantasy art: incredibly good, somewhat ignored by "serious critics" because of the subject matter and general popularity of his work.

My dad would have liked to meet him, I think. Now he will.
