... just proved to me that it's a very good show. The last five seconds, just a very, very true moment.
For those who didn't watch it, it was a Halloween episode. Steve Carell agonized over having to fire someone. He spent the entire episode so worried about it, but never showing any more emotion than anxiety.
Then, at the very end of the show, you see a peek, through his window (of the condo he was guilted into buying in last week's show), at him sitting just staring blankly into space. Then the doorbell rings. It's trick or treaters. He is SO EXCITED to see them. He could be real with them. He drops some candy and it's so disarming. "That's all yours," he said.
Whatever complaints I've had about the show were erased in that moment. Steve Carell is truly a class act.
